Title: TWENTY-FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME OF THE YEAR (A), 23RD AUGUST,2026.

THE HOLY SPIRIT OUR BEST AND GREATEST FRIEND. KEEP MAINTAINING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS. Child of God, Come Holy Spirit...But you,' Jesus asked, 'who do you say I am?' Then Simon Peter spoke up and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' Jesus replied, 'Simon son of Jonah, you are a blessed man! Because it was no human agency that revealed this to you but my Father in heaven.(Mt.16:15-17(16:13-20) It is important to note that an honest answer to the question, "Who do I say that Jesus is? Or proper reflection on Peter's answer to that question can be of great help to us. Let us not just know about Jesus but strive to have personal relationship with Him. If we do so, we will hear Him better and have the grace to obey Him. Thus, God the Father answered the question of Jesus to his disciples, through Simon Peter because of the close relationship between Him and Peter. Jesus was very pleased with Simon Peter's spot on answer and blessed him, nicknamed him Peter (the rock) and made him the leader of his emerging community of believers. We can say that, God the Father made his choice of Simon Peter to be the leader of his Church by speaking through him. Jesus simply pronounced the symbols of his office and a little description of his role as the chief shepherd of God's flock. That reminds us that God is always the one who calls whoever he wants to serve Him. He does not choose the qualified but whoever he chooses for the reasons best known to him, he qualifies to work for Him. It is note worthy, that after his resurrection, Jesus called Peter three consecutive times and asked him to take care of his flock. So, no doubt that Peter's deep personal relationship with God earned him Divine Grace and Favours. Let us keep Striving earnestly to maintain our personal relationship with God and His Grace will continue to be sufficient for us to keep loving and serving him better.
